About us

CliveHOMEpageleftClive Reed and his wife Morya operate the business, Reed Equestrian Australia from their working equestrian property, the North Equestrian Centre. This well established facility has been operating for 25+ years and is situated on the northern outskirts of Adelaide in the suburb of Penfield and is approximately 40 minutes drive from the city centre. Set on the Adelaide Plains, the Northern Equestrian Centre is very accessible via major roadways both north and south, and is in close proximity to the famous Barossa Valley wine region.

The property of 10 acres is home to the Reed family and as well as providing an excellent training base for Clive and Conor’s own competition horses, the facility is run as a professional equestrian training and agistment business. The Northern Equestrian Centre is central to most competition venues and although the property is set in a semi-rural location is less than 10 minutes away from a major shopping complex.

The property boasts large stables with day yards as well as small individual paddocks. Horse owners have the option of complete care of their own horses or they can have other services provided (ie daily feeding, exercising, training, occasional or full board, etc).

Facilities Include :

• International sized Indoor Arena (60mx30m)

• Dressage Arena (60mx20m)

• Large all-weather Outdoor Jumping arena

• Parking Areas for cars, floats and trucks.

• 25 Stables with Yards

• 6 Paddocks

• Wash Bay

• Full bathroom amenities with toilets and showers

• Accommodation for interstate and overseas visitors

The Indoor Arena is available for hire by equestrian organisations and clubs for training, schools and competitions, and we welcome private hire from individuals as well. The Outdoor Arenas are also available for hire at reasonable rates. This venue has been used for clinics by Rod Brown, current assistant Australian Showjumping Coach as well as overseas coaches such as, George Morris from the USA and Albert Voorn from Holland. Specialist coaches also use the facilities for private and group lessons on a regular basis.

The Northern Equestrian Centre has been frequently used as a “stop-over” by interstate competitors travelling across Australia from the East to the West (and visa versa). There is ample room to park trucks and floats, day yards (or stables when available) for horses and there are full bathroom amenities for the drivers.
